Volunteering is an opportunity to grow, and train for, an altruistic human awareness. Students can give their time to serve others while discovering how much they receive back in return.
Porta Nevia students volunteer at two soup kitchens feeding the homeless in Rome, one near the Ostiense Station and the other in Via Marsala and on weekends we organize visits with the old people of Porta Nevia neighborhood. During the summer, Porta Nevia students, thanks to the partnership with Condoray Institute, participate in a work camp in Peru.
During the summer Porta Nevia students attend some volunteering activities in Palermo with refugee and migrant children in partnership with La casa di tutte le genti Association.
We organize also activities with disabled individuals in Fatima at “John Paul Hospital”.
There is no shortage of sports activities in the daily life at the Residence. All students can work out every day in Porta Nevia gym and play Volleyball and Tennis in the Residence’s pitch.
The Inauguration of the academic year and the party with residents’ families in May are among the most significant events that take place every year.
Porta Nevia is a place where passion for every dimension of human nature is stimulated, with the genuine university spirit: open to truth and respectful of everyone’s freedom.
Porta Nevia provides the opportunity to confront important questions about human existence through daily conversations with professors and students, debates and conversations about current affairs. Porta Nevia follows some traditions that every Christian family does and we celebrate the Holy Mass. The chaplain is available to all students.
Participation in these activities is always voluntary and the Residence is open to students of any religious denomination.
